Adventure Riding Training
We’ve joined forces with expedition specialists Trailquest to develop an exclusive range of adventure riding experiences for you and your Tiger 800XC.
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned expedition rider, these courses are the perfect opportunity for you to experience the full off-road potential of a Tiger 800XC.
The courses make use of some of the finest off-road riding in the UK on routes around the Malvern Hills in Herefordshire. We always put the emphasis on giving you a fun, enjoyable experience, tailored specifically to your ability and experience.
With small groups, a maximum of four riders per instructor, you’ll get personal tuition at a pace that suits you.
These are your options:
Your introduction to off-road riding if you have little or no previous experience.
Tuition will cover essential basic skills and a guided ride on suitable trails on the Bromesberrow estate near Malvern. Trails are wide, relatively flat and with grass, hard core or gravel surfaces. These have gentle slopes and sweeping curves that are easy to negotiate on all size of bike and perfect for novice riders in wet or dry conditions.
If you already have a good level of experience and want to improve your technique on challenging terrain, this experience is for you. Trails incorporate rock-strewn surfaces and heavily rutted sections with some very steep hills and tight corners. You’ll encounter deep water and mud in parts and in some places the trails are very narrow. Several require careful navigation to follow. At some times of the year, and after very dry conditions, trails across very soft soil/sand are available.
If you’ve completed the introductory level or have previous experience, this course gives you more of a challenge. Located at Leominster, it includes advanced tuition on a variety of surfaces, with ascents and descents. You will also encounter tighter corners and narrower sections through a more wooded landscape. Some wet and muddy patches can be expected too, depending on time of year and recent weather.
If you are an aspiring adventurer – how about a weekend with a difference? This course gives you basic expedition skills (bike recovery, navigation and route planning) plus an overnight camp. Training takes place in Malvern, Leominster and South Wales and mixes on-road and gentle off-road riding.
